Hey Doug. I read your post about that four legged animal you made a couple of posts back, and how you mentioned tat you didn't like the gesture. I'm just curious as to what your process is: can you put a drawing on maya to model over? The reason I'm saying this is because when I modeled in blender, I had an orthographic drawing of a side view and a frontview of my character, and then I pasted them on blender. That way, I was able to model over my drawing (almost as if "tracing" over it), and everything about the proportion and the gesture was figured out in the drawing stage, so I could concentrate on the modeling. I'm sure you know about it, but I'm curious because when I tried modeling, the gesture wasn't too big of an issue because of that. Anyways, hope you're enjoying Savannah!
Right now I'm still playing around with various techniques and approaches to modeling, but I've seen other people do that "tracing" method and gotten really good results. I'll have to try it sometime. And Savannah is beautiful, can't wait to start classes next week...
